970 VFL Grand Final Football Record, Carlton v Collingwood, one of the most sought Footy Records ones of the last 50 years, scoresheets filled in, some damage to centre pages, but still rare.

Protest marches? Women’s Liberation? Migrants? Music? Theatre?

The Royal Historical Society of Victoria is preparing an exhibition exploring 1970s Melbourne. The exhibition aims to cover key events such as the protest movements, immigration and immigrants, the flourishing cultural scene and the changing face of the city, amongst others.

The exhibition team is on a hunt for photographs and iconic objects (household items, fashion accessories, badges, posters, even the odd bit of furniture for instance) reflecting life and events in 1970s Melbourne that could be lent to the RHSV for display.

This is therefore a request collectors  to dig out their photograph albums or any other memorabilia
from that period that might capture the events, feel and energy of the 1970s which they might be
willing to share for this project. The final selection would depend on the range of items available and
their coverage of the decade or events.
