Moustachioed ephemera for Movember

I would like to see sports cards, swap cards, trade cards, advertising, posters, badges or other ephemera that show men with moustaches. My first moustachioed friends are on LP covers and knitting pattern covers.

I would like to do an ephemeral tribute to the men’s health fundraiser, Movember.

Movember grew out of a one off fundraiser in 2004 when a group of Melbourne men grew moustaches to raise funds for prostrate cancer and depression in men. The event has grown from year to year.  It now operates in South Africa, Europe and North America.

Independently a moustache growing event had started in Adelaide – according to Wikipedia, they coined the term ‘Movember’ although they were in fact ‘Growing whiskers for whiskers’ – raising funds for the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The whiskers were grown in 1999 and appear to be a one off event.

My deadline is 30 September 2014.  Please contact me with information about what you have in your collection via the comments’ box.

Thanks Mandy B
